The location was fantastic, with easy access to town and a peaceful setting away from the noise. The outdoor layout was beautiful and made me feel safe and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the staff were pleasant and lovely.
The toilet didn't have a lid and that the bathroom lighting was dim. there were some plumbing problems that took a couple of days to fix and the cabins were not well insulated against noise.

The location was perfect, and my room was clean and cozy, with a charming little patio and hammock. The presence of a Spanish school on the property added a unique touch, with students and Spanish lessons adding to the atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped, although I didn't personally use it. The lush greenery and playful lizards made the surroundings even more delightful, creating a tranquil oasis. The staff, particularly Rolando and Edson, were friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They even upgraded me to a bigger apartment and fulfilled my request for fresh flowers in the room. The gardens were beautiful, attracting colorful hummingbirds, and each room had its own hammock on a cool terrace. it was a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Puerto Viejo.
I would recommend this hotel.

Great value for money with spacious and well-equipped cabins surrounded by a beautiful garden. The location is perfect, right in the center of town yet calm and quiet. The staff at La Casa De Rolando were incredibly friendly and helpful, always there when needed but also respecting privacy. Highly recommendable!
Hotel breakfast could use some improvement, specifically in terms of the variety of food offered.

I recently stayed at La Casa De Rolando in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca for a week-long vacation. The location was perfect, situated in a quiet back alley yet still within walking distance to everything I needed, including laundry services, bicycles, and local restaurants. Rolando, the owner, was incredibly friendly, and his wife was always there to offer helpful assistance. The charming Tico cottage was cute and mostly clean, and I especially enjoyed relaxing in the hammock on the porch. Having a fridge in the room was also a nice touch. The cabinas were comfortable, and the beautiful garden with hummingbirds created a tranquil atmosphere. The kitchen area was a great gathering spot for meeting fellow travelers. La Casa De Rolando had good vibes and a convenient location.
I would recommend this hotel.

My stay at La Casa De Rolando was fantastic. The location was ideal, allowing me to easily explore the area and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The bungalow was clean, charming, and had a private kitchen, which was a wonderful convenience. The beds were surprisingly comfortable with soft, floral-designed sheets, and the extra pillow I requested was not even needed because the pillows provided were thick and soft. The outdoor garden felt like a lush jungle, and I loved interacting with the owner's sweet dog and kittens. it was a delightful and comfortable experience.

I had a wonderful stay at a quiet, laidback accommodation in Puerto Viejo. The lush vegetation and tall trees on the fenced-in property made the rooms cooler, perfect for a good night's sleep. The beds were comfortable and the fan in the room worked well. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcome. The value for money was excellent, even though the amenities were not brand new, everything was very clean. I loved having my own patio with a table, gate, and hammock. And let's not forget about Benji, the adorable dog who was always up for a head rub.
